The Journey Begins

Thank you for visiting our newly launched website.  I have been wanting to update our website for awhile, but was dreading all the time it would take to completely transfer all of the required content.   I am pleased to say that this new website builder is much more user friendly so I hope to make changes/additions on a much more regular basis moving forward. 

This journey officially began the evening of February 26, 2019 when I was tinkering around with website builders from different online hosting companies and found this one from WordPress seemed to be a good fit.  

As we prepare to hit the “launch” button here on the evening of March 6, 2019, I find myself just as excited as when our very first basic website appeared many years ago with a few pages written directly in HTML code with the help of a “Designing Websites For Dummies” book purchased at Costco in Winnipeg a couple of days prior.   We will never have a fancy, professionally designed and maintained website, but we hope this site will build on what the first 2 versions of our website provided.  

I’m pumped to share version 3.0 with our resort family members and prospective guests researching potential visits to Lake of the Woods.   I hope to add more content as time allows so come back often and follow us on wordpress if you have an account.   I encourage you to register, if you haven’t already, so you can leave comments below and be a part of our online community.   You won’t want to miss any of the cool new goodies (DRONE STUFF IS AWESOME!!) we will be coming up with as we move along.  

Please feel free to contact us with any issues related to the new site.  Anything from spelling and grammar to broken links and redirects.

We hope you all will contribute memories from your visits through photos, videos and stories from your stays with us.  I would like to create a page titled “What Our Guests Say” that might include a moment or story from your trips that stand out to you.    All submissions can be sent to me at myliesplace@hotmail.com.   Whether it be fish, scenery, or other memories made, we would love to show them off through our site.

Also, please feel free to comment with what you like and don’t like about the new website.  I can’t promise to be able to fix everything, and there are a few things I would change if I could, but it is always good to hear feedback for consideration in future projects.
